Clickbank Super Affiliate Secrets

In this podcast I talked to my friend Jeff Siegel a multi million dollar Clickbank affiliate expert (and a heck of a nice guy!). As a top level marketer and partner in "The diet solution program" selling over 1000 copies of health related information products per day you will enjoy the key points on offer here….

Do Sales Videos Work?

Jeff really pushed the envelope testing out Video Sales Pages. Soon a few hundred sales per day turned into a few thousand sales a day. Start with an introduction, then establish credibility and follow up with ten minutes of solid content.

How Super Affiliates Conquer The Market With 500 Sales Per Day…

They use paid advertising. If you are stuck on the 'free' treadmill then it is going to be a slow ride at 1% conversions… Jeff recommends product owners prove conversions yourself first. JV's will send spurts of warm traffic, in fact some affiliates can do 500 sales themselves in a single day. TIP: January is the big month for diet solutions!

How important is the product itself?

You need to continually update the product but it is super important to have quality from the start. Jeff is all about integrity. Make sure you have related up-sells that accelerate the results, save time and effort. Perhaps build a community to encourage additional product consumption. Increase customer service with a call center. Jeff will have operators verify orders and answer questions whilst offering additional deals.

Focus your energy on helping affiliates make money

It takes 75% of your effort to stay up to date and tread water. Jeff has a warning about crazy affiliates who can get you banned from Google. Keep a close eye on them and avoid affiliates who run 'scam' angle campaigns.

Conversion Suggestions

It is essential to conduct split testing and tracking. Jeff often creates special pages for affiliates who make a lot of sales and have a good history. These special pages will have headlines to match ads for continuity. Lead people all the way from start to finish - you must not slack off at the finish. Everything is counter intuitive so persistence and risk are important.

What tools can be used for testing?

Jeff recommends Googles Conversion Optimizer . TIP: always go with simple. Get simple working first then go advanced. Start with A:B split testing before trying heat maps.

Success Tip From Jeff

Go the extra mile with your own internet marketing campaign…
It is essential to perform split testing and also tracking. Jeff frequently creates special webpages for affiliates who make a great deal of sales and have a good ranking.

How to Create a Clickbank Thank-You Page

Clickbank is an online retail directory that contains more than 50,000 digital products. Anyone can create a digital product and for a small price, promote it through the Clickbank marketplace. Digital information sellers find Clickbank an extremely effective way to sell products, as Clickbank has an integrated affiliate system. With more than 100,000 affiliates regularly scouring the marketplace for products to promote, a newcomer can make sales without having to actively market his product himself. Two pages are required when making your Clickbank product; the sales page, which is used to describe the benefits of owning your digital creation, and the thank-you page. The thank-you page is where your customers are immediately directed after purchase  to download the product.

Instructions

    • 1
Open your HTML editor. Create a new page; the name you give it should be something that is easy for you to identify as your thank-you page, but complex enough that digital thieves will not be able to access your page by guessing the name. Therefore, do not call it "thank-you" or "download," but opt for something like "go-dl-e-book." Place a noindex meta tag in the "head" section of the page, as you do not want search engines to spider the page and index it in search results.
    • 2
Upload your product to your Web host. To further eliminate digital theft, before uploading the product, change the name slightly. For example, If your product is an ebook called "Fast Weight Loss for Vegetarians," you should change the name enough that thieves cannot guess it, but leave it somewhat intact so customers can recognize the file when they search for it on their hard drive. For our example, "Vegetarian-diet-fast" would be a viable option.
    • 3
Copy the link that points to your product. This will look something like "http://yourdomain.com/vegetarian-diet-fast.pdf." Paste the link to your download page. You can do this directly, or make anchor text such as "Download Your Purchase Here" and link it to your product URL.
    • 4
Add some text. Thank your customers for purchasing  the product, and provide a contact email address so they can reach you if they should experience a problem when downloading the product. Do not assume all your customers are computer savvy; provide clear instructions on how to download the product and save it to their local machine. As per Clickbank terms of service, you must also remind the customer that their credit card or bank statement will show a payment made to Clickbank, or CLKBANK*COM, rather than detailing your product's name. This is important, because if a client is not aware that Clickbank is processing the purchase, she may make a credit card charge-back, and Clickbank will deduct the costs involved with this from your earnings.
    • 5
Upload the thank-you page to your Web host. Make a note of the page's URL, which will look something like "http://yourdomain.com/go-dl-e-book.html." You will need to provide it for Clickbank to check when you submit your product. Before submitting to Clickbank, load the URL in your browser and test the download link to make sure it is working correctly.

Clickbank Redirect Rules

One way to protect your ClickBank affiliate marketing links from fraudulent “link jacking” by hackers is to set up a redirect from the Web page that contains the link. ClickBank not only allows redirects, it recommends using this technique and provides information about how to implement the redirects on your website.
  1. About ClickBank Affiliate Links

    • Each affiliate product marketed through ClickBank includes an affiliate URL link, called a “hoplink,” that you can add to your Web page. The link includes your unique ClickBank affiliate ID so that you get credited with the commission when a visitor to your website clicks the link and buys the product. You can add the link to your Web page in the same way that you’d add any clickable link or cloak the link by using a redirect.

    About Affiliate Link Jacking

    • Hackers can manipulate affiliate links on a website to transfer clicks to their own ClickBank accounts. In this situation, visitors to your website who click your affiliate link get transferred to the hacker’s ClickBank account. If the visitor buys the product, the hacker receives the commission even though the sale was your own. Using a redirect to hide your affiliate link can prevent hackers from stealing your commission.

    ClickBank Redirect Policy

    • ClickBank encourages its affiliate marketers to use redirects. You can implement the redirect by creating a dedicated website page that contains JavaScript or PHP code to redirect the visitor to the affiliate link. Instead of using the ClickBank hoplink code on the product or sales page, link to the redirect Web page instead. When the visitor clicks the link, the redirect page loads and transfers the visitor to the ClickBank product.

    Considerations

    • Although using a redirect can protect your affiliate link from fraud, the technique might affect your site’s search engine rankings. Google and other search engines generally disapprove of websites that use cloaked links, because some unscrupulous webmasters use redirects to trick visitors into opening pages that they may not want to visit. If you use redirects for ClickBank, clearly and accurately describe the link so that visitors and search engines know that you’re not attempting to hide the content and trick your visitors. Don't use redirects if you're concerned about the possible impact on your website's search engine ranking.

How to Make Clickbank Ads Look Like Google

An alternative to Google Adsense ads would be ClickBank HopAds. At first glance, HopAds appear to look like Google contextual link box ads with minor differences. To make these types of ads, ClickBank offers an Hyper Text Markup Language ad source code for affiliates to paste into their websites. Content management  system websites like WordPress and Joomla provide ClickBank ad plug-ins for adding into the website template and quickly customized. Create ad blocks using an RSS feed script; integrating content-related ClickBank products with an affiliate ID and placed in blog posts or website sidebars.
  1. Instructions

    • 1
Log in to Clickbank with the user name and password. Click on the "HopAd Builder" link in the "Account Settings" tab.
    • 2
Select the "Text Ads Builder" and get started with the basic appearance of relevant product ads. Enter the keywords associated with the website or blog post the ads will be placed on. Include a tracking ID to later analyze ad campaigns.
    • 3
Choose a layout for the ad. Customize the appearance of the ad block by editing fields. Refresh the ad preview  to view any changes made to the layout.
    • 4
Get the HTML ad code for the block ad created. Copy the code and paste it into the website or blog post. Save the HTML ad code to a text file on your computer  for future reference.
    • 5
Refresh the website or preview the blog post to view the ads. Check for relevancy and if needed, modify the keywords used in the basic setup of the "HopAd Builder."
