Clickbank Affiliate Marketing-Pros And Cons

Clickbank is the world's largest digital information provider. They also offer an affiliate program you can make money on promoting their products on the Internet.

In this article we want to take a look at Clickbank affiliate marketing and the pros and cons of it.

Here are a few things I like about Clickbank!

1. They offer thousands of digital products you can promote. You will never run out of products to sell as new products are added every day. The fact that these are already created for you is a big plus if you do not like to create your own products.

2. There are products in every category you can think of. This makes it possible for you to develop niche websites and add content to it very quickly. Chances are excellent you will find an ebook to sell on Clickbank.

3. Digital information products offer high commission rates. There is no shipping involved so your customer can instantly download them. This makes it possible for the merchant to pay you as high as 75% in commissions for every sale you earn.

4. There are now recurring commission products available. This means you can get paid in the future for sales you make right now. If you would like to create a residual income Clickbank now offers many products that include recurring billing.

5. One thing I like about Clickbank is you can promote multiple products with one ID number. This is known as a hop link and all you do is replace your ID number into the hop link URL and you have a webpage to begin promoting.

Now let's take a look at a few of the negatives on Clickbank.

1. Not all products are created equal and you must be cautious about what you promote. You'll quickly learn that there are many products that are of a very low quality. You can almost spot them by looking at the sales page itself.

2. Selling information products on the Internet is competitive. The most successful affiliate marketers are those who use techniques such as email marketing, promoting landing pages, setting up a blog, and so on.

This is something you must learn how to do if you want to make a lot of money selling their products.

3. At times it can be difficult to find products as there are literally so many to choose from. This can be time-consuming and many people will give up because of that alone.

These are a few things I've discovered about Clickbank affiliate marketing. The positives certainly outweigh the negatives.

How to Remove a Hop URL to Clickbank

If you use ClickBank -- a digital marketplace that enables you to sell Internet products like e-books  -- you get Hop URLs, or HopLinks, that display on your Web page. These links route through to the ClickBank tracking system to give you the proper credit for sales, but if you no longer want to advertise a particular item, you have the option to remove the link. Update your website by deleting a HopLink you no longer wish to promote.

Instructions

    • 1
Start your text editor program and open the Web page  document that contains the ClickBank HopLink. Alternately, log in to your website account, such as WordPress, and navigate to the post or page that contains the URL you want to remove.
    • 2
Press the "CTRL" and "F" keys at the same time and enter "clickbank" in the search field that appears to find the HopLink address. Press the "Enter" key to highlight this entry in the document.
    • 3
View the complete URL code to ensure you delete the correct syntax. The HopLink address itself contains your affiliate ID and the product vendor, which looks like "http://affiliate.vendor.hop.clickbank.net." The address displays inside an opening anchor tag, and is followed by the link text and a closing anchor element like this example:
      < a href="http://affiliate.vendor.hop.clickbank.net">Click Here!</a>
    • 4
Highlight the complete HopLink URL code and delete it.
    • 5
Save your file  to finish removing the ClickBank link.

How to Convert a ClickBank Link

Clickbank is a popular online affiliate program used to purchase and sell digital products such as newsletters, online website memberships, tutorial guides, e-books, tutorial videos  and more. The owners of those products make them available on Clickbank, hoping that other affiliate members will promote them on their websites and convert clickbank advertisements into the sale of a product. When a digital product sells, both the product creator and ClickBank affiliate promoter make money from the converted sale. In order to convert a link on Clickbank, a reader of the promoter's website must click on the clickbank link and purchase the product.

Instructions

    • 1
Sign up with ClickBank. Locate a product that relates to your website or blog by searching through the different categories. Review the advertisement for the product and the sales commission  being offered. Decide on whether it is a good product to promote or not. Choose to add it to your ClickBank account.
    • 2
Copy the HTML link code information for the product you want to promote.
    • 3
Write an interesting review, blog or article about the product. Paste the HTML link code information to your article. This can be placed anywhere in the article you want to put it. Place the article on your blog or website.
    • 4
Promote your blog or article. Wait for a reader to click on the link and purchase the product with their credit card or PayPal account. They will be given a download button to download the digital product.
    • 5
Navigate to your Clickbank account to confirm that the converted sales percentage promised you is in your clickbank account.

How to Make Money With Clickbank

Clickbank is a marketplace  where people can either sell egoods or sign up to sell other people's egoods. Most people have at least one front-end product, which is an egood of their own to sell. These items can be anything that can be downloaded without needing any part of it to be physically shipped.

Instructions

    • 1
Identify a niche market. Search the Clickbank marketplace to see what categories are available. Tailor your product to fit categories that are not already filled with similar items.
    • 2
Write an ebook, create software  or put together a report that will sell. Make sure it has a fresh angle that will make it different from any similar products.
    • 3
Register for a seller's account with Clickbank. Pay the startup fee and have your account confirmed.
    • 4
Create a mini-site to advertise your product. Write a sales letter that accurately describes the product and what it can do for the buyer. Use highly-searched keywords in order to get search engine traffic to your page.
    • 5
Submit your page and your egood to Clickbank for approval. Take the Clickbank payment links provided to you from the site and put them onto the sales letter.
    • 6
Choose a price for your item. Choose a percentage of each sale  that will go to anyone who sells the item on your behalf.
    • 7
Find new ways to market your item. Post information about it in forums and on related websites.

Tips & Warnings

  • Always offer fresh, original content in your egoods. If you can't write the item yourself, you can always contract the work out to someone who can write it for you.
  • Offer affiliates a high percentage in order to sell more items. The marketplace items are in competition with each other, and affiliates will choose the ones that will make them the most money.

Find a Product to Promote in clickbank

Now that your account is created and you have a ClickBank nickname, you’re ready to find a product to promote. Unless you already have a product in mind that you want to promote, the best place to start is the ClickBank Marketplace. You can find products you’re interested in promoting by searching on particular keywords or browsing by categories and sub-categories. Once you hit Go, you’ll be presented with a list of products matching your criteria.

For more information about deciding which product(s) to promote, see our article Finding Products to Promote.

Once you’ve selected a product, click the Promote button to the right of the product listing. This will pop open a new window, where you’ll enter your ClickBank nickname, an optional Tracking ID, and click Create. This will create a HOPLINK™ referral tracking URL that’s specifically tied to your nickname and the particular product you choose. It is automatically encrypted for your protection.

You’ll see two versions of the same HopLink. The top version, in black text, is in plain text. You’d use this option if you want to share your HopLink via email, Twitter, Facebook, or any other method where you don’t need to create HTML code yourself. The second version, in blue, is formatted in HTML code in case you want to insert the link directly into your own website or another source that requires HTML formatting. On the second option, you can change the part that says “Click Here!” to say anything you want, such as “Check out this great product I found!”

We recommend that you copy and paste your new HopLink into a text document or save it in some other way on your computer, as ClickBank does not store HopLinks for you. If you don’t save it yourself, you’ll need to return to the Marketplace each time you want to generate the HopLink, which can be time-consuming.

To learn more about HopLinks, see “All About HopLinks,” but for now you’re ready to start promoting your HopLink!
