Clickbank Vendors: Two Simple Ways You Can Help Affiliates Protect Their Sales.

1) How To Remove Your Affiliates Clickbank Id From The URL.

As a merchant, you can hide the clickbank affiliate id for your affiliates by creating a redirect page and pointing your default hoplink to the redirect.

When some uses your hoplink http://hop.clickbank.net/?affid/yourid, the cookie will be set and they will land on your redirect page.

The redirect will send them to your domain without adding the ?hop= information. The cookie is already set and does not need to be shown.

This will help protect your affiliates commission and give your site a more professional appearance.

In the code examples below, you will need to replace [ and ] with less then and greater then symbols.

Create a file called hoplink.php

Add the following code

[?php
header("Location: http://www.yourdomain.com");
exit;
?]

Upload hoplink.php to the root of your domain.

Login into your clickbank account.
Click to view or modify your account settings.
Click to modify your account.

Under Business Info, change the url of your website to be http://www.yourdomain.com/hoplink.php

Click on save changes.

Now when a visitor clicks on a hoplink, it appears that they came directly to your site and the affiliate's id is no longer exposed. For this technique to be completely effective, the affiliate needs to cloak the hoplink as well.

2) How to Cloak Your Clickbank Vendor Id Using PHP

Most clickbank affiliate theft is caused by the fact that is easy to rebuild a hoplink and get credit for your own purchase. All you really need to know is the vendor id.

All you have to do is look at the source code of a typical sales link and you will see the vendor id.

For example:
http://www.clickbank.net/sell.cgi?YourVendorId/1/Product_Description

To rebuild the hoplink you simply use
http://hop.clickbank.net/?AffiliatesId/YourVendorId

Now when you click on the hoplink and the original affiliate has lost a sale.

As you can see, without knowing the vendor id, you can not successfully rebuild the hoplink and the affiliates sale would be protected.

Below is an example of how to do this in PHP.

You will need to replace [ and ] with less then and greater then symbols.

Create a file called order.php

Add the following code

[?php

header("Location: http://www.clickbank.net/sell.cgi?YourVendorId/1/Product_Description");
exit;
?]

Just replace YourVendorID with your Clickbank ID
Replace 1 with your product number
Replace Product_Description with your Product Description

Upload order.php into the same folder as your sales page.

Now link to order.php instead of using the raw order link and your Vendor ID is never exposed

This will make it very hard for affiliates to rob other affiliates of their commissions.

I encourage you to make these simple changes to protect the commissions of your affiliates.

How to Create a Clickbank Thank-You Page

Clickbank is an online retail directory that contains more than 50,000 digital products. Anyone can create a digital product and for a small price, promote it through the Clickbank marketplace. Digital information sellers find Clickbank an extremely effective way to sell products, as Clickbank has an integrated affiliate system. With more than 100,000 affiliates regularly scouring the marketplace for products to promote, a newcomer can make sales without having to actively market his product himself. Two pages are required when making your Clickbank product; the sales page, which is used to describe the benefits of owning your digital creation, and the thank-you page. The thank-you page is where your customers are immediately directed after purchase  to download the product.

Instructions

    • 1
Open your HTML editor. Create a new page; the name you give it should be something that is easy for you to identify as your thank-you page, but complex enough that digital thieves will not be able to access your page by guessing the name. Therefore, do not call it "thank-you" or "download," but opt for something like "go-dl-e-book." Place a noindex meta tag in the "head" section of the page, as you do not want search engines to spider the page and index it in search results.
    • 2
Upload your product to your Web host. To further eliminate digital theft, before uploading the product, change the name slightly. For example, If your product is an ebook called "Fast Weight Loss for Vegetarians," you should change the name enough that thieves cannot guess it, but leave it somewhat intact so customers can recognize the file when they search for it on their hard drive. For our example, "Vegetarian-diet-fast" would be a viable option.
    • 3
Copy the link that points to your product. This will look something like "http://yourdomain.com/vegetarian-diet-fast.pdf." Paste the link to your download page. You can do this directly, or make anchor text such as "Download Your Purchase Here" and link it to your product URL.
    • 4
Add some text. Thank your customers for purchasing  the product, and provide a contact email address so they can reach you if they should experience a problem when downloading the product. Do not assume all your customers are computer savvy; provide clear instructions on how to download the product and save it to their local machine. As per Clickbank terms of service, you must also remind the customer that their credit card or bank statement will show a payment made to Clickbank, or CLKBANK*COM, rather than detailing your product's name. This is important, because if a client is not aware that Clickbank is processing the purchase, she may make a credit card charge-back, and Clickbank will deduct the costs involved with this from your earnings.
    • 5
Upload the thank-you page to your Web host. Make a note of the page's URL, which will look something like "http://yourdomain.com/go-dl-e-book.html." You will need to provide it for Clickbank to check when you submit your product. Before submitting to Clickbank, load the URL in your browser and test the download link to make sure it is working correctly.

How to Change a ClickBank Order Form

If you are involved in selling digital products like PDF books or video courses, ClickBank is one of the safest and most popular choices of payment platforms to manage transactions and receive payment. For a beginner vendor who has recently signed up with selling a product through ClickBank, the setup process requires a bit of concentration. Although ClickBank automatically generates a payment form for you, the instructions for setting it up on your website or sales page are not so easy to find. You can have your payment form set up after plugging in a few URL customizations for your account.

Instructions

    • 1
Access the ClickBank website in your internet browser. Press the option at the very top menu in the upper right corner that says "Log In." Enter your account username and password and press "Log In" to be taken to your vendor account.
    • 2
Press the link in the main menu at the top of the page that says "Account Settings." This will bring up a sub-menu that will display various pages where you can customize your account options and settings.
    • 3
Press the link in the sub-menu that says "My Products." A list of your products will be shown in the order that you set them up. Please note that if you are only an affiliate with ClickBank and not a vendor, you will have no products listed on this page.
    • 4
Look for the corresponding product that you want to use for changing the order form. You may have several products listed here that each generates their own unique order form.
    • 5
Look under the column in the product list that is labeled "Item" and determine the item number of the appropriate product for changing the order form. Make a note on a scrap piece of paper or word processing document with the product item number and your ClickBank account username.
    • 6
Access your web page through your preferred HTML editor or FTP tool and find the link that takes visitors to an existing ClickBank order form.
    • 7
Change the link to the existing ClickBank order form to "http://ITEM.VENDOR.pay.clickbank.net," where "ITEM" is the item number of the product and "VENDOR" is your ClickBank account username.
    • 8
Test your web page and new order form as soon as the change has been made. Click on the link that prompts the ClickBank order form and check that the price and product name reflect the right product that you chose.

How to Remove a Hop URL to Clickbank

If you use ClickBank -- a digital marketplace that enables you to sell Internet products like e-books  -- you get Hop URLs, or HopLinks, that display on your Web page. These links route through to the ClickBank tracking system to give you the proper credit for sales, but if you no longer want to advertise a particular item, you have the option to remove the link. Update your website by deleting a HopLink you no longer wish to promote.

Instructions

    • 1
Start your text editor program and open the Web page  document that contains the ClickBank HopLink. Alternately, log in to your website account, such as WordPress, and navigate to the post or page that contains the URL you want to remove.
    • 2
Press the "CTRL" and "F" keys at the same time and enter "clickbank" in the search field that appears to find the HopLink address. Press the "Enter" key to highlight this entry in the document.
    • 3
View the complete URL code to ensure you delete the correct syntax. The HopLink address itself contains your affiliate ID and the product vendor, which looks like "http://affiliate.vendor.hop.clickbank.net." The address displays inside an opening anchor tag, and is followed by the link text and a closing anchor element like this example:
      < a href="http://affiliate.vendor.hop.clickbank.net">Click Here!</a>
    • 4
Highlight the complete HopLink URL code and delete it.
    • 5
Save your file  to finish removing the ClickBank link.
